Event: Launch Comparatively Analysis of Right to Information Laws in Pakistan

The 18th Constitutional Amendment to the Constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan inserted 19-A in 2010, states ‘Right to information: Every citizen shall have the right to have access to information in all matters of public importance subject to regulation and reasonable restrictions imposed by law.’ Since the 18th constitutional amendment, all province assemblies and parliament of Pakistan have enacted Right to Information (RTI) laws for respective provinces and at federal level.

CGPA has carried out study ‘Comparatively Analysis of Right to Information Laws in Pakistan’. The purpose of the study to assess the strengths and weaknesses of the provincial and national RTI laws in Pakistan vis-à-vis national and international best principles.
