Under contract with USAID Citizens’ Voice Project, Centre for Governance and Public Accountability, is not-for-profit, non-governmental and non-partisan civil society organization. CGPA works for development in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province and Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) through governance focused and rights based approaches. CGPA is based in Peshawar, and is registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 also working for “Citizens Voice for strengthening Transparency and Accountability Mechanisms” in District Mardan & Peshawar. For above mentioned thematic area, consultancy is required as per given criteria.

Centre for Governance and Pubic Accountability (CGPA) requires services of one technical expert/translator for KP RTI & RTS law in Urdu language.

Introduction to the Project

The technical assistance for Urdu translation of KP RTI & RTS law is required under the project ‘Strengthening Transparency and Accountability Regime through Effective Implementation of KP RTI & RTS Law’.

The project has following two objectives:

• To strengthen citizens’ voice for improving transparent and accountable public service delivery through effective implementation of the KPK Right to Information and Right to Service.
• To advocate for strengthening RTI/RTS mechanism and enhancement in implementation policy framework of RTS and RTI in KPK.

Scope to the Assignment

The consultant is required for the translation of KP RTI & RTS laws. The consultant for this assignment is required to:

1. Review of the KP RTI & RTS laws

2. Translate KP RTI & RTS laws in Urdu language

3. Present these translations in easy way that can be understandable and readable for a citizen have minimum education.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE

At least master degree from HEC recognized university in social sciences (economics, political science, law, sociology, anthropology, development studies, etc)

• Sound understanding of Right to Information & Right to Public services laws
• Understanding of legal terminologies
• Excellent translation and Urdu writing skills

Timelines /Labour days

This task requires 10 days.

Deliverables

• Draft Urdu translation of KP RTI & RTS laws
• Final document of Urdu translation of KP RTI & RTS laws

Payment Schedule

1st Installment 25%: Submission of first draft

2nd Installment 50%: Satisfactory completion of assignment

3rd Installment 25%: Final approval from Donor
